Wroxeter Roman City - English Heritage
Wroxeter was Britains largest Roman city and one of the most well preserved. The refurbishment and re-interpretation of the site was a challenging project.
Bringing the sheer scale of the site to the Visitor was the primary task, what remains is just a fragment of the city as was. Communicating this through a completely new museum and a series of external interventions that tell the stories of life in a Roman City.
The collection discovered on this site is truly amazing and it was our job to make sure each object became a jewel within the display, whether a piece of drainpipe, part of a belt buckle, or, a set of tweezers!
